Idol Chatter

American Idol Superstar

What could have been a complete disaster to the umpteenth degree, actually turned into a extremely entertaining show...of show tunes? And prompterguy must be in his sleep(again) 'cuz he's going to admit that his favorite performance of the night belongs to Carly. Who?! And by a landslide the worst is courtesy of his perennial favorite, Mr. Rastadude. What a mixed up universe this Idol resides in.....

Due to various factors, prompterguy can't decide as of yet who will be voted off. Come back later before the show tonight for his updated post...

He's back!!!! After much deliberation, Pguy thinks that Syesha will be booted off. Now she did fantastic--probably her best ever, because Broadway is probably where she should be-but the first position is a highly jinxed one, statistically speaking. Anyone remember which position Michael sang when he was unceremoniously yanked off? Take a wild guess! And secondly, guess who's pimping Brooke, who really should go before Ms. Mercado? Vote for the Worst!!! Based on just last night's performance, Jason deserves to go. What was he thinking doing that song? Probably the worst choice he could have made. And we weren't even pleasantly surprised when we had such low expectations of him with that diva song to begin with. But hopefully people will considers his previous performances & he'll be safe.Terrible, it was one of the worst performances ever on Idol. Sanjaya, where are you when we need you..lol. However, we like Jason & think he has his own unique flavor. And kudos to both Davids for doing a song that wasn't expected of either of them to do. Yeah we're so conditioned for David C. to give each song a rock edge & what does he pull---he does a straight , musical theatre take on "Music of the Night". Brilliant. And David A. gets somewhat ballsy for him & gives a contemporary male pop vocal take on "Think of Me". Even Mr. Webber was shocked. BTW, this musical theatre icon was one of the best mentors the show has ever had. Such a nice chap...and sharp...and witty! All in all, a fun show with Carly being the most fun of all. Boy, that was a hoot to see her finally have fun & go over the top in a song that actually warranted it!! And Brooke's major faux pas was reality TV at its most dramatically realistic.

Till tomorrow.......pguy
