PRESS RELEASE
April 10, 2008 Bellevue Santa Fe Charter School
Spring Auction and Carnival
Bellevue Santa Fe Charter School announces its Wild Wild West Carnival – Saturday, May 3, 2008 from noon – 4pm on the school grounds. Admission is free, so come join in the fun and revisit the wild west with cowboys, cowgirls, and outlaws to boot! There will be authentic Barbeque and lots of other grub, so bring your appetite!
Activities for all ages include bounce houses, pony rides, crafts, a rock climbing wall, kids games, and lots more.
Both a Silent and Live auction will be the fundraising focus of the day. You will have the opportunity to bid on everything from handmade quilts and rustic bird houses to gourmet dinners, professional artwork, jewelry, and vacations!
Bellevue-Santa Fe Charter School is a public school located in the Avila Valley. Students from throughout the county in Kindergarten through Grade 6 are actively engaged in project-based learning in multi-aged classrooms. This Standards-based curriculum provides all students with appropriate level challenges with just one example of its success reflected in the school’s recent distinction as a Distinguished School. Bellevue offers complete Physical Education and Science programs along with its award-winning Ag-Grow garden program and on-site Scitechatorium. Children have unique hands-on opportunities to use their critical thinking skills throughout each day to make learning more meaningful.
The Spring Auction and Carnival is the school’s main source of fundraising for the year. This event has become particularly important this year in the face of statewide budget cuts. Funds raised this year will support our enrichment programs, along with basic ongoing costs at the school. Families at Bellevue spend many, many volunteer hours each week assisting teachers and running programs at the school, however, these funds are necessary to provide supplies and infrastructure.
The Wild West is waiting for you! Please join in this fun-filled fundraiser. For more information, call the school at 595-7169 or stop by at 1401 San Luis Bay Drive.
