    Automobile [au] Gas Prices

I went to fill up my car yesterday and I paid $3.15/gallon. I thought this price was quite ridiculous until I started driving around town and I saw other gas stations had their gas at $3.23/gallon. I found myself saying, ‘I remember when gas was only $2.50/gallon’, which wasn’t that long ago, maybe a month or two ago. So my question is why have gas prices suddenly sky-rocketed? I know last time the gas got up this high was after Hurricane Katrina but I can’t think of anything that would send the gas prices soaring. It seems that this increase came just as prices were somewhat falling, then suddenly they shot back up again. I know other parts of California have prices lower than ours (Los Angeles County has gas around $3.05/gallon). I wonder is there anything we can do to help stop these prices from reaching $4.00/gallon?!?
